It’s still the Wild West

The human race moves frantically to the future, at the same time longing for a simpler time and place.

The West has long been called the ‘Wild West’ where cowboys and cattle and wild horses roam the range. The images that we see in our mind’s eye of the West comes from Saturday night ‘Spaghetti Westerns’, John Wayne and other cowboy movies that we grew up with. Tough men, rough riders, pioneer families, and rugged landscapes are all part of the spirit of the West; a romantic ideal that people from all corners of the world come to experience.

For a few hours during their tour, visitors are transformed as they watch the Mustangs in their family bands grace the landscape. Proud stallions protecting their families, mares nursing their foals and bachelor stallions fighting to steal a mare, are just a few of the relationships among the wild horses that we marvel. It brings us back to a simpler time. It gives us an indescribable feeling of overwhelming joy. We can only hope and believe that these magnificent creatures will remain a living symbol of the West for generations to come.
