Mustangs in 4H
This is a subtitle for your new post We were pleasantly surprised to see so many ‘converted’ mustangs in the 4-H horse show this weekend. The wild horses have been trained well and are a wonderful testimony to the spirit of the horse.

Spring
Spring An awesome time to see nature at its best! Like the blossoming trees, little foals are budding across the landscape offering a promise for tomorrow. Take the opportunity, take a moment to grow and learn from a moment in nature. The filly or colt will be nourished by the mare for up to a year.
The more things change, the more things stay the same
It's still the Wild West The human race moves frantically to the future, at the same time longing for a simpler time and place. The West has long been called the ‘Wild West’ where cowboys and cattle and wild horses roam the range. The images that we see in our mind’s eye of the West comes from Saturday night ‘Spaghetti Westerns’, John Wayne and other cowboy movies that we [...]
No Place for Wild Horses
Their fate lies within us The fate of the Mustangs still hangs in the balance. Our Nation’s leaders – Congress will ultimately decide on our American Mustangs on public lands and those that have been removed. The Virginia Range Horses near Reno NV also await the Department of Agriculture’s decision. Followers with Sonny Boys Tours on Facebook, have seen posts regarding the Virginia Range Horses and wild horses that [...]
Winter Coat for Wild Horses
Wild and Wooly What do wild horses do in the wintertime to keep warm? Grow a winter coat of course! Mother nature provides wild animals with a thick ‘coat’ that protects them from the winter chill and dipping temperatures. Anyone who has owned a horse and lived in below freezing temperatures has witnessed this in domestic horses too. Rolling in the dust and dirt applies another layer of protection. [...]

This is a subtitle for your new post The leaves on the trees are changing color, and the Autumn leaves start to fall! Keep Vigilant
It's and uphill climb The long and winding road for a wild horse has long-been an uphill climb. Throughout our history, the wild horse has evoked many emotions and controversy about the role they have in our lives. Mustangs have endured for centuries as ‘wild’ animals, yet their place in society has been to one of domestication. Our last message gave an alert about the ominous potential future for [...]
For the Love of Wild Horses
They are under attack Free-roaming Mustangs are under attack – not by predators such as mountain lions or coyote. Not from the elements of Mother Nature. Wild horses do not succumb to disease or aliments like domestic horses. The threat to family bands throughout the Western States is our very own government. The agency that was sworn to protect them under the 1971 Wild Horse and Burro Act. On [...]

We have a lot to be thankful for! 2016 Thank You The end of the year is a good time to reflect on all that has happened to us, and for us, during the year. They Shoot Horse’s Don’t They?
Domesticate or Leave Alone? The history of wild horses has been one of persecution with mixed opinions of what a wild horse is – to be domesticated or left alone as a wild animal and in the State of Nevada, feral. In the movie,The Misfits from 1961 – Cowboys and wranglers routinely captured Mustangs in the Nevada high desert, Pine Nut Range. The wild [...]
Stone Pony
Horse shaped Rock Going through this spectacular canyon with it’s multi-colored rocks, we spotted the ‘stone pony’ along the hillside. Even though we had taken this route many times before, the image was not noticed until just the other day. But if you move just a few feet in either direction, you can not see the image, at all, of a horse running up the hill. In one version [...]
