Wild Horse and Burro Expo

American Mustangs and Burros show off their talents in a show designed specifically for wild horse and burros. Proud adopters compete with their trusted steeds in pole bending, barrel racing and other traditional western riding events. The Wild Horse and Burro Expo is held each year in Reno Nevada at the Livestock Event Center. In addition to the riding events, ‘prison horses’ are auctioned to new owners. The Carson City prison program is a win-win learning experience where wild horses are tamed by inmates. The horses can find new homes more easily when they are socialized and able to be ridden.
